PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TIP OF THE MONTH
Steiner-Atlantic always strives to provide our customers exceptional service. To promote our efforts, our service and parts team focuses on providing preventative maintenance tips to avert customers from incurring downtime and high repair costs. This month we wanted to share with all of you an extremely cost efficient solution that can save you time, money, and headaches.
As our Service Manager, Mr. Hector Garcia eloquently demonstrates holding a standard paint brush, which averages $0.50 in any hardware store can save you thousands! Modern commercial laundry machines operate with an inverter drive, which controls the variable speeds of the machines (washers & dryers). The inverter drive normally comes equipped with a small cooling fan and an open air vent (please refer to image) to allow the inverter to work adequately. Unfortunately, due to the environment this small vent is prone to attract lint and other debris that may flow in the air due to the natural suction of the small cooling fan, which causes the fan to seize operation and eventually the inverter overheats and stops working. With a simple brush (please refer to image), you can routinely clean the lint or debris from the open air vent and prevent damage to the inverter drive cooling fan. An inverter drive normally costs between $1,400 to $10,000 (varies per equipment) including labor. Hopefully this tip will aid all of you and help you avoid any future issues that may arise within this spectrum.
